RE ROCK SALT

Jan 30, 2004 4 Replies

Hi all how much damage does road salt do, will it wash off the the next heavy rainfall , or should i get a steam clean underneath, regards Frank

If you actually bother to follow the underbody maintenance schedule fro the manufacturer it is pretty much a non issue.

'tis the spume of the horned one, and should be expunged post-haste with lashings of clear clean H20 liberated from your garden hose pipe - imho it's not necessary to steam clean.

OTOH there is a school of thought which reckons that if you start the winter with a really thick coating of dried mud on the car it keeps the salt away from the bits that it likes to eat. ;-)
