Are there any obvious visual differences between the Triumph Herald 13/60 block and the Spit 1500 block?
The engine number starts with a GE which suggests it is a Herald lump, but the owner assures me it's a Spit 1500. I don't believe him, so I'd like to go on something else other than the number.
Any help gratefully received, as ever!

The GE is a small bearing crank, whereas all 1500s are the large bearing, so if it's a GE block, whatever it's from (and I'm sure GE is only Herald
13/60, with GK near the end of the run), it ain't a Spit 1500!On the bright side, the small journal crank is often regarded as the better one for higher revs and tweaking :)
