i don't know if this has been covered, but i'll pass it along
the air dam gets banged up by the uncareful. which breaks the '84, '86 aluminum center bracket, which causes a squeak that appears to come from the dash.
take off the AL bracket and install a flex muffler hanger; problem solved.
