Has anyone ever replaced the gas filler door spring on 1976 c3. I have not been able to get it in place!

Has anyone ever replaced the gas filler door spring on 1976 c3. I have not been able to get it in place!

I have replaced mine on my '77. It snapped in sort of hard, but other than that, no problem. The new one really slams that lid down, too.
