have a 1996 neon espresso---180000 miles---just replaced head gasket couple of months ago--and had to replace oil sending unit last week---now i have a smell of gas at the right rear at times--was wet and i wiped it off-- smelled like gas but when i put a match to it it did not burn like gas---just jacked up the car and pulled the plate at the tank---checked all the lines and connections and everything is dry--ran the car for several minutes--still no leaks that i can see or feel----any ideas
