Hello all, i have a dodge ram 1500, 1995, 4x4 with what i think to be a heating core prob. The temp reading is a lil erratic and the antifreeze has a small leak. Id like to know IF it is the heating core or if its just a leak and if it is the heating core what do i have to do to change the old one out? Thks for any help with this prob.

Do you smell antifreeze in the cab? If so, the heater core is the most likely cause. Regardless, if there is a leak you should try to find it. How does the oil look on the dipstick? If it has an internal leak antifreeze is hell on bearings.
Erratic temp readings could be sending unit, gauge, or wiring related.
