I have a 97 manual 6 cylinder Ford Explorer and I am towing a bayliner boat which weights 2,691 lbs (including trailer).
When I fully release the clutch (and its engaged in first gear) the engine revs drop so much that the engine comes close to stalling and often does. This happens no matter how much gas I give it when releasing the clutch. It makes it really hard to pull the trailer and boat out of the boat ramp.
Is this some type of engine management issue? Has anybody else had a similar experience?
