I brought my '97 EB in for service and they found that the shocks were worn and leaking 61K on truck and original shocks. The offerred to replace them with KYB Gas Pressure shocks. Has anybody heard of these shcoks and if so how are they ? I also had the 4 X 4 service done . First time at 60K miles the front took regular gear oil and the rear synthetic. Anyone hear about this ? The Synthetic was pretty pricey 4 quarts for $72.00

I'm not sure, but the only reason why I would think they put synthetic in the rear beacause it is a limited slip? Also not sure why they would charge $18/quart. As far as the shocks, I put on the Monroe Sensa-Trac shocks on my 99 XLT last year. I like the way it rides and handles. I do not have experience with KYB. BTW, it's not hard to change the shocks yourself.
