Hi,
I was backing out of my driveway the other day and discovered my power steering was not working...........
I drove to a service station (to get some air for my tires), shut the car off and when I restarted it the power steering was back!!
I replaced the belt a few months ago so I don't really know what's going on........
It's been working for a week now but who knows when it will crap out again...........
Is there something other than fluid, that I could check??

Oh yeah, it's a 94 explorer V6
Check the pump and the pump seals to the PS rack. The system may leak down overnight, causing your system not to run. Once it heats up, pressure builds and the assist returns.
the belt you replaced would be a good start, maybe it slipped a little, and now is getting good tracktion. Try some belt spray.
