All the electronic/electric stufff seems to test out fine--the cable going to the throttle isn't broken--has anyone ever seen a situation where the actual servo unit (motor) has failed or works intermittently ? Thanks in advance.
C'mon septicman, give us details...details...details... You've been around here long enough to know that. "I set my CC and "this" happens. Then, when I do "this", "that" happens...." Drive for 30 minutes using the CC and post the highlights.
From your limited description, my second suspect would be the CC Module (servo/controller asy), but given the age of the car the "clockspring" in the column just below the steering wheel could be getting intermittant. That's the primary suspect.
car has about 188K miles, all highway with cruise used extensively. Horn works, stoplights switch works, brake actuator switch works, radio/heater buttons on steering wheel work, airbag light goes on at startup, then goes off. No other warning lights/indicators on. Digital dash speedo appears to work smoothly. Neutral safety switch/range position sensor replaced this year, speed control worked fine before and after--bought it from Ford.
Hope this sheds more light on the situation. Thanks again.

Forgot to mention: Lights in CC switch work, CC doesn't work at all now, although I got it to go on just momentarily the other day and indicated by the speed control words in the digital dash.
