I have a 2005 Escape and a 2005 Explorer. On both cars, the left fog light lens is broken. The manual says to have dealer replace them. Does anyone know if it can be done without bringing it to the dealer. Thanks.

Sure - but unless you (or your local parts store) can ID and locate the aftermarket supplier that made the lights for Ford so you can get new repair parts, or find a good set of used lights at a wrecking yard, you will have to go to the dealer parts counter for the pieces.
You probably have to do it from underneath. Ramps and a creeper will be very handy. Or park the car over the edge of a curb and lay down a chunk of scrap carpeting to slide under on.
