i was told that thier is another hookup under the hood to scan or use an OBD2 reader to extract info and codes to see what is going on with my tranny i have A 96 windstar 3.8 and the van appears to have no 1st gear when using the drive selection it starts out in second then shifts normally,now a puddle appereared under it a couple of night ago and was so hot it caught fire,after putting more fluid in to get it to move again i got it home and am now trying to figure it out.a very good person with experiance stated it sounded like a worn shift solinoid,question is i guess thier is a shift solinoid for each gear located in the oil pan area and does anyone know what this hookup under the hood looks like or where it is located?????
