On my 2000 LX I have been getting some vibration from the engine for a while, but not all the time. Whilst in a Ford dealer on a separate matter they suggested it was the engine mounts.
The top mounts look fine, and I took off the lower steady to check it out. Although there were a few small cracks in the rubber, it seems intact.
Could it be something else? The vibrations occur whether in drive or not and stationary or moving. If anything it sounds more like it is coming from the left hand side.
I just know it is going to be one of those things where I replace all the engine mounts and find it does not cure the problem :-(, so any advice on diagnosis would be much appreciated.
