My 2000 Focus wagon is overheating...

MY wagon is overheating, it did leak some anti-freeze, the problem is i cant find any broken hoses, or where the leak is coming from. When the car is idling in park the temp gauge oes to abot half way, when i drive it even a very short distance it overheats. I noticed that when i turned on the heater it was blowing very warm air out, it was also making some king of banging noise from under the dash somewhere... What can it be be..water pump? Radiator? PLease help...

Broken cylinder head gasket is another possible reason, to you see white smoke from the exhaust? There are a few other, get some dealer who knows what he's doing looking after it.

I have three guesses: a) thermostat b) thermostat or, most likely c) thermostat

Routine, cheap fix, but don't delay or it could get expensive. Go to a good shop (dealer or cooling system specialist) that can do a complete flush and pressure check.
