What tool do I need to get the differential filler plug off ?

Thanks

97 Ranger 2.3l

Usually you need a 3/8" rachet (or breaker bar, if it's stuck). No socket, just stick it in the hole.

If they havn't changed anything in the last "ump-teen" years, it should still be a plug with a square hole, right? You use either a 1/4" or 1/2" (don't remember the size) ratchet without a socket on it...

(unless I'm misunderstanding what you are describing...)

Whoops - meant 3/8" or 1/2", definitely not 1/4"...
