Thanks for the input.
Alvin, Dave,
I thought that I knew where the MAS was located based upon its location in my V10 SD. However, in looking at the '92 Bronco 5.8L, I see nothing that would resemble a MAS. From the Air Filter, I have two long air connection tubes going to the throttle body. Where is this sucker located??
Suddenly feeling stark stupid that I can't just whip off the location... ...must be getting old. Dave
for a pair of wires going into a section at the beginning of the tubes, or a pair of wires going into a section at the throttle body end of those tubes
Speed density on pre-95 Calif. Broncos. MAF on '95-'96 Calif. MAF on '96 Federal.
Speed density is simpler, sometimes better. Except for mods. to your truck. Mods better handled ( within limits ) with a MAF setup.
HTH.

Yep it does help, because I don't know shit about it so everything helps. :)
BTW, If Dave can't find it and his discrption doesn't do the trick, there's no way this hammer mechanic can help find it. :/

Gene,
I'm not sure that I follow your comment. Does it mean that there is no MAF sensor or equivalent on the '92 Bronco? Or, is it just terminology.

Speed density systems don't use an airflow meter... they calculate airflow from the manifold pressure/vacuum and (I think) engine RPM.
Thanks for that Dave. It looks like I can eliminate a possible source of the problem.
