Fuel gauge not working Mazda/Ranger whatever

Nov 09, 2004 2 Replies

I have a 93 maybe a 94 Mazda B something pickup, same as a Ranger the gas gauge quite working. I was going to check the wiring today and after getting a fuel tank shield off I still can't get to the fuel sender unit's wires. I'm wondering if it won't be easier to just take the bed off instead of dropping the gas tank? I've wrestled with gas tanks plenty of times and it's no fun. Any thoughts on the matter are appreciated, err make that helpful thoughts would be appreciated.

Had that same problem with my 95 Ranger. Fuel sender quit working. The dealer had to slide the pickup bed out of the way to get the assembly out. They said that was easier than removing the fuel tank.
