Strobe Lights

Does anyone know who sells the kit to convert your existing lights (tail lights, front parking lights and side markers) to flashing strobe lights as used on emergency vehicles and such? I'm looking into doing this on my '96 F250 plow truck. The gumball beacon I have on the top of the roof just plain sucks, I wanted a cleaner look. Thanks for any input! Norm

Check some law enforcement stores online (sorry, don't remember any off hand). I had seen one in the past the had many converters for most American makes/models.

Believe it or not, most law enforcement stores will sell to any one.

There are plenty of retailers offering strobes. For the unit and installation, you could get into a low profile LED lightbar. Plenty bright, low power draw, easy to install and move. The price will open your eyes, but so will the stobes plus installation.

What you describe is a strobe light kit. It does not use your existing lights.

The strobes are not cheap but you get what you pay for. You probably won't want them in front due to the reflection off the snow. Maybe in the side marker only? Make sure they are weather tight, they get wet and done.

a kit. Remove your back light assy. and drill an extra spot for the strobe bulbs. I have done this a number of times. These strobes are the best, and run at 120 volt ac. Strobes need high voltage. Another trick I have is for keeping them in place. I drill a circular hole in the fixture back, then 2 small holes on ea. side of the bulb, and use an automotive spring to hold the bulb in place.

) is another catalog/online store that sells much emergency vehicle lighting and personal equipment. be sure to check with local police to see if you can use colors other than yellow(if you place bulb in tail light) you possibly could buy yellow bulbs and place in your reverse area of rear lens and in a clear lens on the front. i will tell you from experience that the more foreword facing lights that are flashing during a night snow or rain get very annoying quick.
