purchased a car for wife 2003 impala nice car but bunch of little quirks had only 7 months and wife wanted smaller called gm about extended warranty to try to cancell no go so lost 2 grand on warranty and value of car dropped sad i would look at which car holds value and has customer value in mind good luck or go to casino same thing :):)

Incorrect. When I decided to dump the 2003 Malibu LS I bought new in September of 2002 (after owning it for 9-months), I cancelled the extended warranty for a full refund. I then sold the car to CarMax. Odd your extended warranty was $2K...I paid $1,200.

One thing you are right about, the value drops quickly. But in my case, I didn't care. It was well worth the $6K hit to get rid of it.

Classic case of "buyers remorse."

First year depreciation is worst.

You can cancel your GM extended warranty at any time and get a check for the unused portion. Anybody telling you different is bs'ing you.
