Fuel sender-1993 Buick Century

I have to replace the fuel sender on my son's 1993 Buick Century 3.3

6 cyl. Are the white plastic clips on the fuel lines at the tank easy to dis-engage? Do I simply squeeze them with a pair of pliers? Thanks for any info/ advice.
