GM Re-hires Lobbyists and taxpayers foot the bill

Now lets see how many don't see the conflict of interest of a Government Motors providing taxpayers moneys for politicial interests.

How dripping wet corrupt can Obamanation get?

Oh, I hear Hilary is ranting about higher taxes. It is related to this bailout debt-corruption-spend madness. DC is spending so far in debt it isn't funny any more. America is a stake.

In November, pick your representatives carefully.

As a Canadian perhaps you are not aware the US Constitution gives the "People," the right to petition the Congress for redress of grievances.

The Supreme Court recently ruled that, if Corporations have been considered "people" for so many years and thus can be sued, obviously this must mean they have all of the others rights as "people," as well. Such as the right to petition the Congress, to support political parties and candidates like all other "people."

There is nothing wrong with the "people" pooling their funds in that effort. Whom would you engage on your behalf, one who understands the workings of the Congress or you auto mechanic? To whom would you take you car for work, your auto mechanic or a former Congressman? ;)

As we in this NG have learned to expect our friend Canuck57 is confused once again about the new GM. GM has already paid back the portion of the government money loaned to it by the government, with interest, before it was due.

As to the Preferred Stock purchased by the government, that money was spent over the past two years on R&D, much like Toyota spends the money it has been getting for R&D from the Japanese government ever since WWII. The difference is Toyota never has to pay it back to the Japanese government, but GM must pay back the money given to it by the US government. GM will buy back the preferred stock, at a profit to the government, when GM goes public again in the fall.

Canuck57 has been telling us the sky is falling for a long time. When it comes to government subsidies to manufactures, Japan is king around the world. To make it worse the biggest portion of the funds it gives to Japanese corporations comes from the US consumer, yet the Japanese corporations do not pay a single penny in US Federal Corporate income taxes

GM.new is no different than GM.old. Just a paper shuffle to stiff bond and preferred share holders out of selling GMs assets for recovery.

Tell ya what, you lend me $50 and wipe out $100 of my debt and I will pay you back what I owe you, $8. GMAC and polution cleanup extra.

Good deal from my point of view, welsh on $142 by giving you back $8 of your money.

Just put a billion behind the above numbers for the GM deal.

As for WW II, US government gave GM reparations for the GM plants blown up in Germany that were making engines for the Natzi. Your point? If I were president post WW II I would have publicially told GM to go to hell on this one.

Excuses. No one gets subsidized like Government Motors. No one. Not even close.

US taxpayers got saddled with over $64000 of debt for every GM vehicle sold in 2009.

You are confused, again. I will gladly lend you $50, if you do what GM did, give me 60% ownership of you 2009 automobile. When I sell the car I will pay you back the $50 plus a $20 profit ;)

GM gave the government 60% of a bankrupt negative value company. Not even worth the price of a GM Volt/Edsel. VE for short. And that was for the whole company.

As usual, your facts are wrong. You are a UAW/CAW but kisser, as you don't even own a GM, and in fact have stated you would not buy one. But expect others too be the suckers.

LMAO.

As I said you are confused. GM physical assets far exceed the value of the governments Preferred Stock holdings.

LMAO. GM cooked its books big time. Judge even said so and about a month ago many got checks. I put my brother onto the class action web site... he is buying the beer this weekend.
