need to know gear ratio in truck

Jul 19, 2005 2 Replies

i have a 1990 chevy c/k 1500 pickup with a 350ci engine and it has an axle code "b" with the code eu4 on the sticker in the glove box. I would like to know what the gear ratio is. Thank You

List all the "Gxx" codes from the RPO sticker in the glove box. If you meant "GU4" and not "EU4", it's a 3.08 ratio.

Steve

A GT4 is a 3.73 and a GT5 is a 4.10 and a simply way to be sure is to jack up one rear tire and rotate it one turn exactally and count the drive shaft revolutions and multiply it by 2 and you will have the gear ratio (spider gears double the drive shaft revs when one wheel is stationary so a 3.08 will rotate the drive shaft about 1.5 times)
