Speedo/Trip Meter/Odometer Circuit Card?

Sep 29, 2003 2 Replies

I've heard that the speedo, trip meter and odometer on the 1990 Grand Prix is tied into a circuit card in the dash? Can someone clarify this for me? None of these work right in my car and I'm looking to fix them. Where would I find such an item?

It's on the back of the dash display thingy and it may be as simple as a loose solder connection or a chip may be fried. The link below isn't exactly your problem but it does show the back of the instrument cluster and how to get it off.

Not sure how a GP is set up but the Bonneville odometer / trip meter is controlled by a tiny motor about 1- 1/2 inches long and about the diameter of a quarter.

This motor is screwed into the back of the cluster.
