Taurus downshifting questions

Just bought a 94 Taurus wagon, 3.0 motor, well taken care of with

120k.

From 35 to 25 mph there is a rapid 'fall' in the gearing. Tranny is fine at speed and when you apply the brakes when going from 35 to 25 you don't notice the fast drop....

Is this related to the car not being driven since April? Notice the car didn't do well going up major hills today, although it flies on flat hiways...wonder if an overall tune is in order...

I did hit the Jiffy lube this AM, full checkup, and all was fine...

Since when is a Taurus made by GM?

Ford issued General Recall #Bull.007 in November of 1994 and replaced all transmissions with John Deere transmissions. Drop into your local John Deere Dealer and refer him to Bull.#007 for your free replacement part.

John Deere advises against going up any hills until the transmission is fixed. You may drive the vehicle on flat surfaces or down hills, but should you have a hill you must climb, John Deere advises you to go up such hills in reverse.

John Deere recommends that you have Jiffy Lube oil the rotors as a temporary fix and remove your oil filter until the problem is fixed.
