XJS Cutting Out

Hi All,

I have a 1991 5.3 Litre V12 XJS, and just lately it has started to 'cut out' if it left ticking over in a traffic jam or if driven hard. Its as though it over heats and just dies. After 5 minutes or so it starts again ok and carries on. Is there any sort of thermal cut-out switch fitted to the engine please - if so, any idea where? Any other ideas welcome also.

Generically, could be: heat related electrical component failure - like a coil, or a fuel line that's too close to an exhaust manifold or pipe causing the fuel to vaporize.

Others may have suggestions specific to this model.
