I have a 4.0 2001 Chrokee that gets 13.5 mpg. All Stock, 30k miles, new tires, dealer says nothing obvious (they want $800 to do the 30k tune up, of course). I put some fuel injector cleaner in the tank 2 tanks ago and it didn't seem to help. I've never owned one of these, and it seems pretty loud. It sounds like the autochoke is on most of the time as it has that loud, "air" type noise that, in other motors, goes away once they are warm and goes to a finer sewing machine-type sound. This never goes away- always loud. RMP's are correct though.
Any ideas anyone??
