Hi, Time to change my windshield on my '00 Sahara. It is cracked top-to-bottom due to a rock flung up from road construction. Before I shell out $300. + for replace job... Is there any better or 'bulletproof' glass I can specify?

Bulletproof glass is usually just a glass / polycarbonate laminate ; just as your regular windscreen is but with more layers. It isn't going to stop the outside layer cracking on rock impacts. Pure polycarbonate, which has the impact resistance of about 500 times the equivalent piece of glass (you can belt it with a sledgehammer and it just goes 'boing'), unfortunately scratches really easily and I suspect would turn opaque after a few muddy outings and subsequent washings.

Hey, I found this ! It's not made by Jeep admittedly, but the bodywork and glass is very resistant to rocks.

PS that brute weighs in at over 6 tons. It isn't clear that is the dry weight, or loaded, but either way I hope it never steps on my toe.
