My old 99 XJ lost both front electric windows to the same problem. It happened in 2001 or 2002 can't remember exactly when, but it was not in warranty. I did the same thing and bought the $105 part and did it myself, but just think about all the soccer moms that it happened to and the dealer took them for another $200 in labor.
