Nothing fancy, no links. Just THANKS to all who served, by choice or draft.

The Milford, MI VFW put the word out that they needed open-top Jeeps and other cars to drive some of the older vets who would find it difficult to walk in the local Memorial Day parade. I had come home the day earlier from 'wheeling in Tennessee, so I quickly washed the mud off the Jeep and showed up, where at least 100 Jeeps owners answered the call. A few were restored MB's and the like, but most were just folks who volunteered to help out.

I had the honor and pleasure of driving two WWII vets, Charlie (Navy) and John (Army) and a Korea vet, Bob (Army) through the parade. Though the rain started right when the parade began, and ended when we got to the end, they were great sports and were truly appreciative of the crowd's thank you's.

Hats off to John, Charlie, Bob, and every man and woman who has shown the courage and dedication to answer their nation's call!

PS. John, who couldn't have been a day under 85, clambered into the rear of the my TJ as fast as my 9-year old does!

11 months to 20 years, but I'm doing another tour at Officer Candidate School as a Company Chief. Looks like I'll be retiring at 23 years....

I've already got a few but they're not too family oriented. Mostly given by subordinates.
