Then really watch out for your foot when the door pops off. It is 'way' heavier than it looks and could come down fast.

Oh... and if you're worried about scratching the nuts, you can wrap some masking tape around them before you put the wrench to them. IMHO it's not worth it... just take em off & go!

It's the #4 in the '99s, as well. And not only does it disable the "you left your headlights on" buzzer, it also disables the "you left your keys in the ignition, you idiot!" buzzer, so to the original poster - be forewarned!

One thing to watch for when you're undoing the nuts is to not scratch the body paint with the wrench. IMHO it doesn't matter if you scratch up the nuts or not - odds are you'll never put them back on. Mine are still rattling around the glove compartment. ::grin::

No ideas, just take the nuts off and then lift the doors off.

Hey a 13mm Socket/wrench will take the nuts off the door. I tried the tape idea tho, and it didn't seem to help save the paint, and just made it twice as hard to fit the 13 on and take it off the nuts

.... the nuts haven't gone back on ... been a few days ... doubt they will

I originally had a comment about how my nuts are still in the glove box, but I deleted it...

You need your nuts scratched?

Mine's a 99 and I had a hard time with the passenger door. Had to work it loose a bit, then add some lubricant and do the old open-and-close-100-times trick. Did that a few times and now both doors just slide right out. Going to keep them oiled...

Someone mentioned not scratching the paint... I used a socket and put a soft rag between the ratchet head and the side of my TJ. Actually cleaned that spot on my paint.. *laugh*

As for your nuts, I'd have to agree. Take it easy with them. Certainly don't leave them rattling somewhere! ;-)
