The fans are held on by four bolts that also hold the water pump's pulley to it's shaft, but yours appears to be dancing to a different drummer:

Engine rotationmakes it a righty, tighty. Pull the pump before you go the parts store. It's been my experiencethat 100% were boxed incorrectly, having the reverse pump (yours) in the "V"belt box and vice versa. So, match their propellers. Put a little PermatexBlue Silicone on the bolt threads so the next guy won't find them seized tothe block. God Bless America, Bill O|||||||O mailto: snipped-for-privacy@aol.com

For someone who claims to be all knowing of things automotive......... It's IMPELLER, not propeller
What does the impeller do? God Bless America, Bill O|||||||O mailto: snipped-for-privacy@aol.com

Moves fluid in a closed system. The same terms are used for the oil pump as well.. If that poor fellow takes your advice and asks the auto parts clerk to check his propellers, he might not understand why the clerk suddenly bursts out laughing.
So would a serpentine belt water pump impel the fluid in or out, while being propelled in the engine direction?

AndI've ordered and installed thousands of pumps, I don't remember a parts manmaking fun of me. How many have you installed? God Bless America, Bill O|||||||Omailto: snipped-for-privacy@aol.com

That would depend on which way the vanes were cut. (The pump should be pulling water into the engine If you have the right set up)
How many have I changed? I never counted, it would have to be in the hundreds. (Just remember, I didn't do it for a living)

An impeller means centrifugal force is used. God Bless America, Bill O|||||||O mailto: snipped-for-privacy@aol.com

On this particular day of this month, in the Year Of The Golden Pig,
24Bit® did state:
One of her best, I think.....
And probably why she's such an excess -- oops, sorry -- a success at all she attempts. (You know, conquests and accomplishments and all that nonexistent bullshit)
Oh well, I hear it's a dry heat 'way down there in Dante Alighieri's land......
Llewdellen, before you stands an enormous gate with an inscription that reads:
"Through me the way into the suffering city, Through me the way to the eternal pain, Through me the way that runs among the lost. Justice urged on my high artificer; My maker was divine authority, The highest wisdom, and the primal love. Before me nothing but eternal things were made, And I endure eternally. Abandon every hope, ye who enter here."

Excellently depicted, yet sad in one respect, that it is true!
