Yesterdays outting

Well it was beutifull day yesterday, so off we go, me in my CJ, daughter in her YJ, and and a couple in their two Cherokees, 10 miles up in the bush and my tranny packs it in, never been in a vehicle when something happens to tranny, I was quite supprised to find I had reverse, in every gear. Anyway daughters boyfreind new the tansmission, so said one of the forks has slipped, so out come the tools, out comes carpet, boots off, shifters off, one cover off, but the one with the forks under it has two bolts up by bell housing, too close to put a wrench on, so we loosen tranny from bell H, but cover still wont come off because of rod that goes through to were shift handle sits, so now we drop skid plate and move tranny back futher, but still can't get the stupid plate off, only other thing is to take tranny appart in center, 3 bolts come, 4th would need either front drive shaft removed or clutch. That was enough for me, I said lets put it back together, tow me down to nearest junction in logging road and call a tow truck, so back together it went, and lo and behold if it didn't fix it, the cover plate with the forks we could lift up at one end but not get it off, so guess fork got slipped back on. Worst part about this whole thing for anyone who has bothered to read this far, I have a new tranny and bellhouseing, with external clutch sitting in garage waiting for my tranny/transfer addaptor from Novack Convertions, 3 weeks and waiting for that.
