04 Sorrento, steering difficulty when in 4x4

Had my little truck for about 3Y now. Love it. Had following issues:

- once, the tranny got stuck in 4x4 low gear mode. Took me about 15 mins of turning the tranny mode switch and driving the car back and forth to get the darn thing to disengage

- crankshaft pulley fell off, just 2 weeks ago. To dealer it went, spent 14 days there, they fixed it at no charge

Here's one thing that I don't like: when in 4x4, tight radius turning becomes nearly impossible. I am sure it has something to do with power-transfer-to-the-front-wheels design.

I had a friend rent one a looong while back and complain about same thing.

Is it a design flaw or a problem that can be fixed ?

There was a Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) on the crankshaft for 03, 04 and 05 model years, I believe. I don't think it mentioned them ever falling off though. Nasty thing to happen and I'm glad nobody was hurt.

Tight turns when in 4x4 mode will be difficult. As I understand the technology, it is a natural consequence of being in full-time 4x4 and probably unavoidable.
