I just recently took my 2000 Camry LE 4-cyl (205,000kms) on a long road trip for several days. The car performed amazingly with no issues. I noticed that while I was driving on the highway (100 kms/h
+) there was a gap in steering. The wheel would wobble (not by itself) back and forth about a half an inch. This became kind of annoying especially during high winds as the vehicle became harder to control. I had a car similar to this before. I remember the same thing happening but I didn't give it much thought. Then all of a sudden, the steering became lumpy. (easy to turn, hard to turn, etc) I took it in and they told me it was the Ujoint at the bottom of the steering shaft. I had it replaced and the gap was gone also. Am I headed in the same direction with this car or is this a more serious issue? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
