I think the ECM reads vehicle speed from the right front wheel speed sensor in V6 models. You could unplug it and see what happens. At the very least, you'll probably set a check engine lamp. The speedo works off the VSS on the differential housing.

If the car is equipped with ABS brakes, wouldn't this trip an ABS code and shut the ABS system down?
There may be no clean way to do this mod other than a power-programmer type solution where the governed speed is modified within the ECM iteslf. Can the Hi-scan pro modify settings like this?
I guess you could always downgrade to a sephia. They top out at 115 in stock form.
