Spectra Brake Job follow-up

Well, I set out to do only the front brakes yesterday on the 2001 Kia Spectra with 38K on the odometer.

Yes, as other posters suggested, the Rotors were removable without needing to resort to dis-assembly of the Front Bearings.

Once the Caliper, and Brake Pad Brackets are removed, just two Phillips Screws need to be removed from each rotor hub, and then the Rotor slides off.

At 38K, there was plenty of Rotor material to permit having the Rotors lathed, and cost was $10 ea. Then it was off to NAPA to buy thier lifetime semi-metallic pads at $46 a set. (Make sure to apply the included shims to the metal backing of the pads) All wheels were re-balanced again, and all lug nuts torqued to 100 ft lbs.

All in all, a relatively simple job, and the car now brakes as smooth as silk. Thanks again to all! Mark
