Has any one of you Sportage owners changed size of your tires to a bigger size? What are the negative and positive side effects?

Thanks

The effects will be the same as making a switch to a larger size on any other car. If you switch to a size that's too large, the tires will rub on the fender walls and possibly the frame when you turn the wheel to full lock.

The change in tire size will throw off your speedometer/odometer as well. The larger you go, the slower your speedometer will read. Small changes in size won't make much difference, but the odometer difference can add up to quite a bit over time.

Also, making a change to a larger size will effectively decrease your gear ratio which will make a difference in things like torque and acceleration.

Make sure that you have the proper rim width for wfatever tire you want to put on, in addition to not going to large for turning - "Not rubbing the suspension".
