In all seriousness, why not fit a 200Tdi - 111hp, plenty of torque from 1500rpm - and it's "easy" to fit. Ok, Defender variants still cost a bob or two, but you can get a complete Discovery for £500 now - the only tricky bit is the down pipe, which any decent exhaust place can make, or can be bought ready made for a small mortgage. Insurace is likley to be easier too!
