This is a serious post, by the way, however much it might seem like a wind-up. Besides my P38, I've still got my old 1992 3.9 auto RR Vogue. Great for going to the tip and taking dry dogs to the beach and wet ones home. A while ago it developed a pinhole leak in the oil cooler rad and this was fixed by a pal of mine. He swears blind he didn't touch any relays, electrics, etc, but now the electric drivers seat wont budge, whilst the controls for the seat adjust the wing mirrors, but the wing mirror controls to absolutely nowt. Where do I start.

Did he weld it - if so perhaps you got some nasty circulating currents whopping your electrics if he did it on the vehicle

I'll check, but I don't believe there was any welding done - and for what it's worth it's only the driver's seat, the passenger side is perfect.
Classic electrics are pretty much all relays and switches, nothing that can get fried by welding spikes, with the exception of the engine ecu.
Have a look at the electrics under the seat (and there's plenty of them under there!). It is just possible that he got in and adjusted the seat position (did he drive the vehicle at all?) and the seat moving pulled the wiring about under the seat. Bit of a long shot, but I don't think your going to get any short shots with that one!
