info needed, Discovery 2 - compliance info needed from chassis no plate

Hi,

I am looking at exporting a Discovery from the UK, and in doing my homework to see what I need to do this end before it goes on the road.

One thing I need to do is provide proof of the compliance standards the Discovery is built to - apparently the normal thing the inspectors here look for is some info from the vehicles chassis no / VIN plate where the manufacturer states what international standards the vehicle complies with. Things like frontal impact standards, emission standards etc they are looking for.

If it doesn't have that info on the chassis plate, I need to get the local LR dealer to provide me a document stating the same info, which apparently the local guys charge $500 for... no desire to encourage people to import outside the dealer distribution channels perhaps?? Even worse if they wont provide a document for some reason, it has to be individually assessed and who knows what that could cost.

Anyway, if someone out there has a Discovery 2 around 2000 vintage, any chance you could take a look at the chassis ID plate and let me know what's written on it? A digital photo would be even better, to neil.pride@~antispamxyz~xtra.co.nz just take out the ~antispamxyz~ bit first....

Hope someone can help!

Cheers,

Neil.

If you contact LR customer care they'll provide you with a certificate of conformity free of charge.
