I'd agree on this occasion. I tend to use tinyURL and only if the URL is too long to fit in a standard line-length, and risks wrapping it.

then again they are American and you know as well as I do the excesses the boys over the pond can run to

exteriors are down the page a little I think the offroad ability is a little compromised. There is one around Manchester airport sadly it has a turning circle about the same as a 777Derek ( a magnet for cats you say? oh not that type of pussy! )

I'm not convinced about that....

But which tank...... Abrahams, Challenger, Scorpion etc etc. They are certainly bus width.

chap I know got hold of an ex-UN 90, still with the UN on the side in big black letters. There were, as you may imagine, various suggestions for other letters to put with it.

ISTR that being able to drive in the track ruts of an Abrhams was part of their design spec as being support vehicles for the tank was a role they had to fulfil.

It must be true, I read it on t' internet!

Well, thankfully, you did not require me to sit in judgement! ;-)

well, it's distinctive, I'll give him that.

now wouldn't it be much better if all the in-service military vehicles were painted like that?

Not for the soldiers inside!!!

Mind you it could be a good idea? whilst the oppostion were pissing themselves laughing a bunch of squaddies could nip out sharpish in uncoventional uniforms to add to the confusion and give them a royal pasting. but what uniforms? I'm sure Monty Python had a spin on it. Derek

that was kind of the point. being so easily shot-at would discourage 'em from going places they might get shot at. leading to a reduction of conflict.

i believe it when along the lines of "Squad.....Camp it up"

...and Simon Isaacs spake unto the tribes of Usenet, saying...

"Scratch your eyes out, Sailor, two, three..."

Yebbut, we used to give soldiers bright red coats untill someone realised thats why we got shafted!!

Bollocks it would. The poor cannon-fodder go where they're told.

The only upshot (s'cuse pun) would be that the rest of us who paint our ex-military motors in such a way as to _avoid_ being shot at would have to go back to (shudder) fecking 'camo'...

Mind, there's a few in our club who I'd dearly love to see having to paint their trucks pink (no, not you Alex), or somesuch in order to be seen as 'original' and for that reason alone, would fully support the idea in principle... :-)

Wasn't that why the UN vehicles were/are painted white?
