Some recent warm weather here in Melbourne promted me to turn on our cooler... No go. Phone repair man. Not at all helpful...too old (8yrs old) don't stock parts anymore will cost $500+. All this without even looking at it.

Climb up on roof pull out fan and motor. Strip down.Bearing buggered. Off to bearing shop $11.95 for 2 new bearing. All is well... cools as a tinny at a BBQ.

luckily i don't have an air-con to worry about. got a few fans but they have never given me any grief.
