Touch of the Hamster school of parking?
reminds me of an exhibit at the Museum of London
Derek
Should have explained that to the guy on monday who rolled his Disco outside Ulverston on the A590 just past the flashing sign that says Slow Down (if you are travelling over 40mph). Derek
Our clients (I work for an insurance company) seem to write them off with monotonous regularity - we're losing at least one a fortnight.
But only at 40 to 50mph... No flashing signs or even those black and white pointy things (the name of which esacpes me at 0741) on this sequence of bends. Someone leaves the road about once a month at more or less the same place as I did, the drystone wall has lots of newly built patches... According to the Police that attended at least one of their number has crashed there as well, at least I wasn't aware of it's reputation. Still don't really know why the back end decided to refuse to follow the front, I suspect newish tyres on the front and old on the back combined with a cold wet road surface and something "odd" about the road dynamics.
Oh blimey, whatever next, now I'm imagining some kind of northern Stephen Fry character..
Defensive riding is defensive because it takes account of the other lunatics.
Chevrons? Nuns? Penguins?
Same here, in mid-Wales at least. A copper was telling me that the most popular method of stacking your lovely sportsbike is to stop for a coffee/beer/whatever and then set off home. The roads are good, the red mist is down, but - oops - the tyres have cooled off. Apparently, there's a corner about a mile out of Aberystwyth (going towards Enger-land) which is notorious.

Take yer pick none of those where present. B-)
Quite probably if just driving but the unexpected is what has caught me out in the past. I really don't know why the back end of the Mondeo decided it didn't want to follow the front any more, I corrected the over steer at least three times before giving up. Hind sight indicates that it was probably a combination of road conditions, that bit of road and new tyres on the front but I don't know. I certainly wasn't going any faster than I'd been round those bends many times before.
It wasn't the saloon WRX I was looking at but the large estates, still have lot's of grunt and silly top speeds though.
We very nearly got a Subaru Outback when we bought this Discovery. Gobs of power, but not brutal with it. Most Excellent load carrying and towing capacities ... ;)
