My diesel (BMW 6 cylinder, 74k miles on the clock) P38a has used just over a litre of engine oil in the past 2500 miles. Admittedly this was a pretty hot journey to Italy and back, a mixture of high speed motorway driving and twisty hill roads in low gear, but is this oil consumption to be expected or is it something to worry about?
