Luck of the draw with either motor, you could get a crap one of either.

RR '03 onwards are much improved generally on reliability over there predecessors. The major issue of the potential front fiff faiulre on the RR has now been resolved with LR providing a FOC improvement kit that gets around the problem and should be being done as a matter of course for all owners.

You should be able to do a lot better than $52k. Dealers are desperate to move these cars, I've been watching drive.com.au for 3 months and the same cars are still there. Make an offer, wave cash under their noses and grab a bargain. I reckon you'd get anywhere from $5-10k off straight away, ask for free extended warranty too (v. important)

BTW, the 3.0 litre turbo Nissan has a bad rep for engine & gearbox failures- search around for details. 4.2 diesel a much better bet, if you can find one. Also something about a front end shimmy/vibration, very hard to cure. Google is your friend. For info on potential L322 problems, have a read through here:

You would have to be MENTAL to consider a range rover.

Unless of course u want to put your local mechanics kids through private school.....

of course, no Nissan ever breaks down anywhere, ever. And unless it's very different over there, parts for the japanese stuff cost a small fortune.
