After turning off the motor of my '98 RR 4.0 after a 1/2 hr drive, a distinct 'musical' note comes from the rear of the vehicle. It's somewhere around G above middle C, and gradually dies away after 5 minutes or so. The car doesn't drop noticeably either. Any guesses?

Leaky seal on the fuel tank cap relieving the vacuum in the tank?

None at all. I've got no idea what " G above middle C" would sound like. I'm tone deaf. I can identify a tone at about 1 KHz (from years of being a tech in telecoms where we used 1 KHz tones for testing).

Huh, this sometimes follows me into my dreams, as a radio technician. Also I can identify 1750 and 2135 Hz :)

about 420 Hz, I think. "standard" orchestral tuning note is A above middle C at 440Hz.
