RR: broken fuel pressure regulator & fuel consumption

Apr 03, 2004 0 Replies

Hi,

I've got a 1990 RR 3.9L engine. Very high fuel consumption (30 litres per

100km).

Only thing I've found that is broken is the fuel pressure regulator, the pressure drops immediately after turning off the engine (no not through injectors but the regulator). At idle speed the pressure is ok, don't know what it is while driving.

Question is can it cause the fuel consumption?

It's not ECU, air flow meter, fuel or engine temperature sensor. So what can it be?
