Shed clearout - V8 going spare

Dec 09, 2004 2 Replies

I've got an old Rover P6 (1974 - Manual) V8 engine which is free to a good home.

It was a good quiet runner when it came out about 5 years ago and gave good oil pressure with no smoke and all the spark plugs ran clean. It was removed when the P6 was scrapped and intended for a project Land Rover which never happened.

It's free. It might need a total rebuild or it might be a runner with a clean up. It's almost complete, just a few bits were borrowed for other vehicles (ignition leads, a bit of fuel pipe, maybe a flame trap.) but mechanically all there.

Take it away or it will be scrapped. There's also a bare Perkins 4.203 block which is probably only fit for scrapping but that's free too if you want.

I live very near Junction38 off the M6 (UK) Un-mung my email address if you're interested or reply here.

If my unmunging has worked you should have mail.

If not, drat!

It did. You have a reply. You're at the head of the queue of 1 so far.

Just been out to check it and I can turn the flywheel with a short screwdriver levering off one of the metal dowels. One of the plastic caps of a dash-pot has been broken off at some point but they shouldn't be too hard to replace.
