I know what you mean but at least you know which circuit is drawing the juice tracing then is down to following (god help us) the circuit diagram and wire chasing codes.

It's mostly down to getting access to the wiring. When they build the vehicle, the put the loom in first and then everything else :-(

(big relays)

well, I automated it with the 200A relay supplied by vehicle wiring products, and it works. Without additional battery, not enough in the normal battery to start it, with, it starts fine. Ignition off and the booster battery is disconnected.

Once it's in daily use, it'll effectively have just a big battery, as it won't have very long to discharge it.

Anyone need a manual battery isolating switch?

Know just what you mean and if somebodys been putting accessories in ..... I took about 15 yds of purple wire out of Kato ( just under the dash) complete with line fuses and half a dozen spade connectors which did nothing at all but happened to be live. No what I like about that bit of kit is the simplicity just pull out a fuse and stick the connector in its place and check the reading on the multimeter until you find one drawing a bit of current then you start looking at what that fuse feeds saves titting about checking individual components that are suspected s'not like the old days when stuff not in use was never live so much kit needs current to maintain memory, including a certain piece of digital crap which I could cheerfully burn. Thats the wiring for the flux capacitor! :-)
