LS430 (2002) Rain Sense Wipers

I tried this on Club Lexus, but got minimal response. When I leave the wiper switch in the 'auto' position, the wipers cycle once when I start the car. This didn't use to happen. Any ideas how to keep this from occuring (other than the obvious leave the switch in the 'off' position)?

Anyone know where the sensor is or how it works??

TIA, Xplant

The sensor is behind the rear view mirror. It is an optical sensor that looks for changes in visible light. This is why the sensor activates the wipers when it is very hot outside - the distortion caused by raising hot air fools it. Your problem is probably a faulty sensor. A dealer can diagnose this in about 5 minutes.
